Create original artwork in celebration of a special person in your family! This workshop will focus on exploring family stories, traditions and culture through painting, collage and creative writing.
Workshop Details: This workshop will be offered during two different time slots on Saturday September 13th at Rejewvenation ’08, a weekend retreat for women. The retreat also features outdoor adventures, delicious food and more.

Bring images of your family together to create a unique family tree illuminating your family’s growth and the connections between generations. Learn how to combine reproductions of your family photographs and painting to celebrate your lives together. These completed pieces are a wonderful way to honor your ancestors and share the wisdom and experiences of the past with future generations.

Through writing and image making, we will explore the power of memories, the role of story telling in cultural preservation and how your family stories have had a significant impact in shaping who you are today.

NOVEMBER & DECEMBER
Create original artwork inspired by your personal stories, traditions and culture! This six session class offers you the opportunity to develop your skills as an artist and writer through the design and creation of your own Family Heirloom Art project. Emphasis will be on learning how to combine reproductions of your personal photographs and painting illustrations to create a series of narrative images that bring your memories and dreams to life.
Location: The classes are held at the Lisa Kagan Designs Studio located in the Woodstock neighborhood in Southeast Portland.
